How to turn a picture into a perler bead pattern
- Choose an image. Click the upload area (or drop a file) and pick a photo, logo, drawing or emoji. Simple, high-contrast images convert best.
- Pick your board size. One small square pegboard is 29×29 pegs. Four boards in a 2×2 square give you 58×58 pegs, and nine boards make 87×87. Bigger boards keep more detail but need more beads.
- Set the maximum number of colors. Limiting colors (8–16) makes the pattern cheaper to buy and easier to bead. The tool keeps the most important colors and merges the rest into their closest match.
- Turn on symbols if the colors are close. Each color gets its own letter, so near-identical shades are easy to tell apart on the printed chart — great for grays, blues and skin tones.
- Print or download. Print the pattern with the bead list, or download the PNG to work from a tablet. Then place your beads, cover with ironing paper, and fuse both sides.
Tips for better fuse bead patterns
- Crop first. Cut the image down to just the subject before uploading — empty background wastes pegs.
- Pets and people: use the 58×58 size or larger and enable dithering; fur and skin gradients look much smoother.
- Logos and pixel art: disable dithering for crisp, clean blocks of color.
- Check the bead list before you start — running out of black or white mid-project is the classic fuse bead tragedy.
- Colors shown are close matches to common perler / hama bead ranges, but every monitor is different. Compare against your real beads before ironing.
